Free Social Media Calendar Template for Digital Marketers

It is now more important than ever for businesses to be present on these channels, and create content that will appeal to their audiences. This blog post includes a free downloadable template that you can use for your clients.

Free Social Media Calendar Template

My 12-month undated free social media calendar template is available as a copy-only Google Sheet file. It covers two social media accounts: Facebook and Instagram. It's highly customizable and already has embedded data validation and formulas for easier navigation and reporting.

The free social media calendar template includes three phases of social media management:

Planning Stage

In the Monthly Tracking tab, you can pre-plan your content with the following:

• Type of Content/Content Pillar
• Material that will be used for the content
• Who is responsible for the content
• Status of the content
• CTA and Landing Page (if necessary) of the content
• Gist or summary of the post

Monitoring Stage

In the Monthly Tracking tab, you can also monitor and track:

• If the content has been posted (checkbox)
• Key metrics from each post such as Reach, Impressions, etc.
• End of month Facebook Likes count
• End of month Instagram followers
• Total count of your key metrics per month

Review Stage

In the Dashboard tab, after every end of the month, just populate the needed columns with the data you gathered from the Tracking tab.

There are also allocated columns to compute the change (increase or decrease) of your content plan's performance month on month.

A remarks column is also included so you can provide any significant report for that month.

Why is it free?

With my 6 years of digital marketing experience, an integral part of my work is reporting on our marketing performance. I've tried a few platforms and Excel/Sheets templates. I created this template myself and optimized it to my needs. It's the easiest and the most consolidated format for my marketing planning (in my opinion).
