Life lately

Hey there, dear readers!

I hope this blog post finds you well and thriving. It's been a while, hasn't it? As you may have noticed, I've been absent from this space for the past 10-11 months. I'd like to share with you today why I decided to take this extended break and what it meant for me and my family.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Life can be a whirlwind, a never-ending series of responsibilities, deadlines, and commitments. Getting caught up in the hustle and bustle is easy, often neglecting an essential aspect of our lives - our health. A year ago, I was no exception. I was pushing myself to keep up with the demands of my work and personal projects, often at the expense of my well-being.

Early this year, I already felt the effects on my body, which I regrettably neglected.

A series of unfortunate events also followed starting in April which involved family members’ health and hospitalizations, our home being flooded, losing important tech and items, moving out, and a whole lot more in between. I still, regrettably, neglected signs of my deteriorating health because my mind was focused on fixing crisis after crisis we were facing as a family and myself, as a mom and a woman.

I also wasn't able to keep up with the personal stressors + projects, gigs, and ventures I invested my time in. A few of which I "ghosted", which they don't really deserve, and it's disappointing for me as I had no idea I was capable of this extent of unprofessionalism when the going gets tough. (Hopefully, I'll be able to make amends with them, one by one)

The Wake-Up Call

Then one day, it happened - the wake-up call I needed. A combination of stress, fatigue, and some troubling symptoms forced me to take a hard look at the way I was living. It became evident that I couldn't continue down the path of neglecting my physical and mental health.

I was admitted for 7 days and had a “failed” abdominal operation.

It might seem an overkill but that 7 days and the 2 weeks I suffered outpatient before that were a transformative period in my life. I learned the importance of self-care and recognized that I couldn't be there for my family if I wasn't taking care of myself.

During this time, I underwent (expensive) medical treatments, started to adopt a healthier lifestyle, and dedicated myself to mindful practices.

It was a reflective journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth.

What's Next?

I'm excited to be back. The journey I've been on has reinforced the value of self-care and family, and I hope to share my insights and experiences with you in the coming months. Expect additional content that focuses on living a balanced and healthy life while cherishing your loved ones along with sharing bits of product reviews and digital marketing tips.

Thank you again for having me!
